Kingsport’s Pickleball Tournament: The Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department’s “Champions of the Court” pickleball tournament starts Friday, offering local players a chance to compete over four weeks. The tournament will take place on Mondays from April 7 to April 28 at Riverview Park Pickleball Courts from 6 to 8 p.m.
A Tournament for All Skill Levels
The event is open to beginner and intermediate players with a skill level of 3.0 or higher. Each Monday, up to 20 participants can join the competition for a $5 entry fee per session. Players must be at least 13 years old and will be randomly matched before each game night.
Throughout the four weeks, competitors will have opportunities to hone their skills and engage in friendly competition. The format encourages new and experienced players to challenge themselves in a structured environment.
Championship Showdown on May 5
At the conclusion of the four-week tournament, the top two players from each week will advance to the championship round on May 5. The final matchup will determine the overall winner, with prizes awarded to the top two competitors.
The tournament aims to promote pickleball’s growing popularity while providing an inclusive environment for players to enjoy the game.
