Pinkleball in Paradise Tournament: A special pickleball tournament will take place in South Lake Tahoe on July 5, 2025, to support breast cancer patients. The event, called Pinkleball in Paradise, will be held at Tahoe Paradise Park and will feature men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles competitions. All proceeds will benefit the South Tahoe Cancer League and METAvivor.
Competition Format
The one-day tournament follows a round-robin format, ensuring all teams play at least five games. Players must be at least 21 years old and can participate in only one event. Competition is divided into skill levels: recreational (2.5/3.0), intermediate (3.5), and advanced (4.0+). With only eight courts available, participation is capped at 110 players, and past events have filled up before the June 15 registration deadline.
Registration Details
Participants must register online between March 29 and June 15, 2025. The $55 registration fee includes a $50 donation to the cancer organizations and a $5 processing fee for Pickleball Brackets. Organizers emphasize the importance of signing up early due to limited spots. Players without a partner must find one within three days or risk being placed on a waitlist. No refunds will be issued for any reason.
Event Policies and Contingencies
Tournament Director officials have the right to amend brackets based on participation. In case of rain, the tournament will be rescheduled for July 6, 2025.
Health and Safety Considerations
Event organizers encourage players to prepare for the high-altitude conditions at 7,000 feet. Attendees should bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and hydration bottles, as UV exposure is stronger at this elevation. A hydration station will be available, and participants are asked to avoid bringing plastic bottles to reduce waste in the Tahoe Basin.
Parking and Venue Information
Parking is available at Paradise Park for $5 per vehicle. Carpooling is recommended due to limited spaces. Additional venue details can be found at tahoeparadisepark.com.
Fundraising and Donations
By using Zeffy for payments, the tournament ensures that all registration fees, aside from the processing charge, directly support cancer patients. Participants also have the option to make additional donations to Pinkleball in Paradise through the platform.
