The 2nd Annual Pickleball Tournament held by Baytown Meals on Wheels raised $15,000 to support its mission of feeding homebound seniors. The event took place at the Chambers County Pickleball Courts in Mont Belvieu, drawing players from four different states.
Successful Fundraiser
Last year, the tournament raised $10,000, but thanks to the efforts of tournament coordinator Mike Lynch and volunteer coordinator Angie Baker, this year’s event saw increased participation and support from sponsors. Volunteers from ExxonMobil and Baytown Pipe Supply also contributed to the tournament’s success.
After a two-hour rain delay, 54 players competed in a total of 131 matches. The event was divided into Competitive and Recreational flights, with a separate division for players aged 50 and older, ensuring fair play for everyone involved.
