Burlington Pickleball Complex Opening, Set to Boost Local Economy by 2025

Burlington Pickleball Complex: Construction is underway on Burlington’s new pickleball complex, which is expected to open in April 2025. The facility aims to enhance recreational opportunities in the area and attract regional tournaments, benefiting the local economy.

Facility Features

The complex will include 17 pickleball courts at Burlington City Park, featuring one championship court equipped with seating and shade for spectators.

Additionally, six permanent pickleball courts are being constructed at Fairchild Park. The project, approved in 2023 with a budget of $4.6 million, responds to the growing demand for pickleball facilities in the community.

Management and Operations

Rachel Vinson, who has over a decade of experience in sports facility management, has been appointed as the general manager. SFC’s responsibilities include marketing, event booking, staffing, and maintenance to ensure a high-quality experience for all visitors.

Economic Impact

The new facility is projected to generate over $1 million in economic impact during its first year. By hosting regional tournaments and attracting visitors, the complex is expected to boost local businesses and establish Burlington as a destination for sports tourism.

Community Enthusiasm

Local residents are excited about the upcoming facility. Chad Coble, an active pickleball player, noted, “Most of the people… have just expressed how anxious they are and how excited they are and how they can’t wait to get it open.”

Looking Ahead

Despite initial delays caused by weather and technical issues, the project is progressing toward its anticipated opening in April 2025.
