Adaptive Pickleball at Palm Desert: The Adaptive Pickleball program is set to take place at Palm Desert Civic Center Park from April 3 to April 24, offering individuals with disabilities an opportunity to improve their skills. The free program is open to all ability levels and will run every Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Inclusive Pickleball for All
The program is designed for individuals with disabilities and special needs. Participants can play while standing or sitting, with sports chairs available upon request. Sessions will focus on hand-eye coordination, skill-building drills, and game play progression.
Program Details and Registration
Participants must wear closed-toed shoes, bring water, and wear a hat. Pickleball paddles are recommended but not required. Those needing a sports chair should contact the adaptive team at 760-834-9597 or email AdaptiveSports@drd.us.com before the first class to ensure proper equipment is available.
Support and Participation
Family members are encouraged to attend for support and encouragement. An additional information form must be completed along with the standard waiver before the first class. Forms can be downloaded from the Desert Recreation District (DRD) website.
