Ace Pickleball Club Debuts in Grand Rapids: A new pickleball club is opening in Grand Rapids, bringing 13 indoor courts, advanced game-recording technology, and a welcoming space for all skill levels. Ace Pickleball Club, located at 3681 28th St. SE, will officially open on Monday, marking the first Michigan location for the growing franchise.
State-of-the-Art Facility with Game Cameras
Ace Pickleball Club celebrated its upcoming launch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday. Co-owner Adam Lutz said the decision to open in Grand Rapids was strategic.
“Grand Rapids is the epicenter of pickleball in the Midwest. We are thrilled, ecstatic that we can open the first location (in the state) here.” – (Adam Lutz)
Finding the right space took over a year. The location needed to be at least 30,000 square feet, with high ceilings and wide court spacing. Eventually, the club secured the former trampoline park at the Shops at CenterPoint and transformed it into a top-tier pickleball facility.
The club features 13 courts and PlaySight cameras, allowing players to record and review their games through an app. The technology enables users to zoom in, draw on footage, and analyze gameplay for training or officiating purposes.
Membership, Inclusivity, and Community Growth
Ace Pickleball Club will focus on membership, offering unlimited play for $99 per month. Courts will be labeled by skill level to ensure fair and enjoyable games. “Ace Pickleball Club is all about inclusivity and the community,” Kayla Goins, vice president of management for Ace Pickleball Club, said.
“We have courts allocated for every skill level to ensure that everybody’s comfortable. We want them to feel welcomed. We don’t want somebody who’s really, really good to be playing with somebody who just learned today. And we want to make sure everybody has a place to play.” – (Kayla Goins)
The club will host tournaments, social events, and a Pickleball 101 course for beginners. Goins emphasized the club’s role in surging the sport.
“We’re excited to be a part of the Grand Rapids community. (Ace Pickleball Club’s) customer service approach really does embody all things with the Midwestern spirit and inclusivity. So we’re excited to bring this business model to Grand Rapids and have this be a part of this community.” – (Kayla Goins)
