Pickleball Community Hub Williamsburg: The Picklr, a national indoor pickleball franchise, will open its new 46,000-square-foot facility in Williamsburg this Saturday. Located at The Marquis Shopping Center at 120 Gristmill Plaza, the venue offers championship-level courts, beginner programs, and space for events and training for players of all skill levels.
Pickleball Facility Designed for Everyone
The Picklr Williamsburg features 11.5 courts, including regulation and warm-up courts, all with pro-grade surfacing and permanent C&D nets. Amenities include sound-reduction systems, low-glare lighting, a pro shop, showers, lockers, and rooms for parties or corporate events.
Pickleball, invented over 65 years ago, continues to grow fast across the U.S. Its appeal comes from how easy it is to learn and enjoy, whether you’re a beginner or experienced player.
Chase Stokes, the club coordinator, said they focus on making the sport open to all.
“The biggest thing for us is that we want to be a place for all levels. We do stuff with beginners. I work a lot with beginners, coaching people who’ve never played before, and just teaching them how to play the game,”. “All levels of pickleball are supported at the Pickler.”(Chase Stokes)
Extras for Events and Sponsors
Beyond the courts, the Picklr Williamsburg is also built to host events. The space includes areas for team-building sessions, birthday parties, and company gatherings. The facility also offers clinics and has room for local sponsors to support the center and its programming.
What It Means for the Community
With its grand opening Saturday, The Picklr brings a new activity hub to Williamsburg. The mix of programs for all ages and experience levels may help expand the sport’s popularity locally. It also gives players a year-round place to train and connect in a welcoming environment.
