San Antonio’s First Indoor Pickleball Haven: San Antonio’s first Dill Dinkers indoor pickleball facility will officially open on Friday, April 18, at the Blanco Market Shopping Center. The 15,500-square-foot center is led by Air Force veterans Brian and Karen Birdy and will offer year-round play for all skill levels.
New Indoor Facility Opens in Stone Oak Area
The new Dill Dinkers location, found at 18450 Blanco Road, Suite No. 101, is near the Stone Oak neighborhood. It features individually fenced courts, ProCushion flooring for joint support, LED lighting, and smart court technology to help players improve.
This center is part of a larger plan by the Birdys to open 20 Dill Dinkers sites across greater San Antonio. They also operate PMI Birdy Properties and are now branching into sports and recreation with this effort.
Part of a Growing Nationwide Network
Dill Dinkers has 16 indoor facilities in the U.S., including one in Crowley, Texas. More than 450 new locations are under development. This San Antonio site is the second in Texas and adds to the brand’s national expansion.
The facility will also include a pro shop for gear and supplies. A soft opening will run from April 18 to April 25. Memberships are available now, starting at $400 per year.
Pickleball for All Ages, Year-Round
South Texas weather can be hot and humid, so indoor courts allow players to enjoy pickleball year-round in climate-controlled comfort. Brian Birdy said in a press release,
“With Dill Dinkers, we’re creating a space where players of all ages and skill levels can connect, stay active and enjoy the game year-round. San Antonio is ready for more dedicated indoor facilities, and we’re excited to make it happen.” – (Birdy)
He also called pickleball “more than a sport,” adding, “It’s a way to bring people together.”
More Courts Coming Soon
A second Dill Dinkers location is planned near the University of Texas at San Antonio. That site will be even larger at 24,000 square feet and will include 10 indoor courts.
The Birdys aim to create a strong local presence for the sport and offer high-quality playing conditions to everyone in the area.
