ValPlayso PicklePlex: Valpo Parks and the City of Valparaiso will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the ValPlayso Improvement Project on Tuesday, April 15, at 4:00 PM at ValPlayso Park. The project includes six new pickleball courts, part of the city’s rePLAY initiative to improve community recreation.
Community Event to Mark Major Park Upgrade
The ceremony will take place under the Family Express Shelter at 1400 Glendale Blvd, rain or shine. City and parks officials will be present to celebrate the start of the ValPlayso PicklePlex. This project is a key feature of Valparaiso’s broader rePLAY plan to enhance public parks.
The six new courts aim to meet the growing demand for the sport among residents of all ages. The community is invited to attend the event and show support for the upcoming changes.
Partners and Support Behind the Project
Several key partners are helping make this project possible, including Berglund Construction, V3 Companies, and Hasse Construction. Their collaboration will ensure the courts are built with quality and care.
“We are thrilled to be moving forward with the ValPlayso PicklePlex, a significant addition to our park system made possible through the city’s rePLAY initiative,” said Kevin Nuppnau, Director of Valpo Parks.
“Pickleball’s incredible popularity as the fastest-growing sport, coupled with the strong public input we received, underscores the importance of this project. We are grateful to be bringing a first-class pickleball experience to our residents and visitors.” – (Nuppnau)
Boosting Recreation and Community Engagement
The ValPlayso PicklePlex reflects Valparaiso’s effort to offer better recreational choices. As more people take up pickleball, these courts could become a central spot for active living and social fun. The project is part of a larger push by the city to invest in parks and outdoor spaces.
