DINKDEN Indoor Pickleball Waco: The DINKDEN Pickleball Club officially opened in Waco, Texas, offering six indoor courts for pickleball players of all ages and skill levels. The club, started by three brothers from Central Texas, is now open daily, providing a new indoor space to meet growing local and national interest in the sport.
Family-Owned Club Expands Pickleball in Texas
The DINKDEN Pickleball Club was founded by brothers Marc Freiman, Alexander Freiman, and a third sibling. Their goal is to give the Waco community a year-round indoor space to enjoy pickleball.
“It’s very nice to see people of all ages come out and enjoy the space,” said Marc Freiman.
The family’s love for racquet sports led them to pickleball, which quickly became a passion. They decided to create a club where anyone, beginner or expert, could play the game in a comfortable, indoor environment.
“We are a racket sport family,” said Marc Freiman. “We tried it out once, tried it out twice and then it’s been hundreds of times and we were hooked. We love it. We want to share it. We want to help spread it and Waco is the place to do it.”
Easy Access to the Game
The Freiman brothers believe pickleball’s simplicity is part of its popularity. According to them, players can improve quickly, and the sport is easy to learn.
“The most important part is to get out onto the court and start practicing,” Marc Freiman said. “It’s pretty easy to pick up. It’s more ping pong than tennis if that helps, so not much skill required to get good at it. Once you start, you can’t stop.”
The DINKDEN Pickleball Club is now open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Sundays. The facility is open to the public, with courts available for casual or competitive play.
Competitive Tournament Scheduled for July
To promote competitive play, the DINKDEN Pickleball Club announced a tournament called the Waco Paddle Battle, scheduled for July 8. There will be two sessions, one at 9:00 a.m. and another at 1:00 p.m.
Entry costs $200 per team, and space is limited, encouraging interested players to register early.
Significance of the Opening
The opening of DINKDEN Pickleball Club reflects the fast growth of pickleball across the United States. As demand increases, indoor facilities like this offer players a place to play regardless of weather or crowded outdoor courts.
With local interest rising and the launch of competitive events, DINKDEN is expected to become a central hub for pickleball in Waco and the surrounding region.
