Pickleball Ambassador Initiative: Pickleball in the Sun has launched a national ambassador program in April 2025 to promote pickleball across 11 major U.S. cities, including Jacksonville, Los Angeles, and New York. The program invites dedicated players to represent the brand, grow community interest, and receive premium gear and support to organize local activities.
Ambassadors Chosen From Key Pickleball Cities
The program aims to strengthen pickleball’s presence in high-growth areas. Ambassadors will be selected from cities where the sport has gained significant momentum, such as Atlanta, Phoenix, and Chicago.
Participants will represent the Pickleball in the Sun brand and help create excitement through community games and challenges. Laura Gainor, founder and CEO of Pickleball in the Sun, explained the mission:
“We’re excited to build a vibrant community of pickleball ambassadors who are not only passionate about the sport but also dedicated to expanding its presence nationwide. This program is about more than just exclusive gear and fun challenges. It’s about fostering deeper community connections, amplifying pickleball in key markets, and encouraging players to share their love for the sport.” – (Gainor)
Ambassadors Receive High-End Pickleball Gear
Each ambassador will receive a kit featuring top products from major pickleball brands. The gear includes:
A custom Pickleball in the Sun paddle made by Ivy Cut
A JOOLA paddle
Franklin pickleballs
Apparel from Kitch
OS1st pickleball socks
A Pickleball Magazine subscription
Gear from Trelle
These items are meant to support the ambassadors as they lead events and grow their local communities.
Events, Community Challenges, and Court Visits
Ambassadors will be encouraged to engage their cities through organized play and special activities. One unique feature of the program is the Pickleball in the Sun Passport, a booklet with fun challenges that reward players for visiting special courts, hosting events, and spreading awareness of the game. The initiative is designed not just for gear promotion but for meaningful interaction with players of all skill levels, ages, and backgrounds.
What This Means for Pickleball’s Growth
The ambassador program comes at a time when pickleball continues to be the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. With active players taking leadership roles, the program will likely expand the sport’s footprint in schools, clubs, and public parks. By involving cities already seeing a rise in play, the program supports continued growth in recreational and competitive pickleball.
