Pickleball Courts Get Major Upgrade with New Bleachers and Shade Structures

Pickleball Courts Get Major Upgrade: The Fairgrounds will receive new mobile bleachers with 304 seats and six wheelchair spaces by late summer or early fall. Meanwhile, a $4,000 donation from the Minden Rotary Club and pickleball players will help add shade structures to the Community and Senior Center pickleball courts.

Bleachers to Support Multiple Venues

Three new bleacher units will be installed at the Fairgrounds. Each mobile unit will hold 12 rows of seating, totaling 304 seats and six wheelchair spots. These units can be moved for events, such as large park gatherings or pickleball tournaments at the Community Center.

The flexibility of these bleachers makes them useful for more than just the Fairgrounds. They can be rolled out as needed to other areas, allowing for better event planning and audience support throughout the community.

Funding Boost for Pickleball Court Improvements

The Community and Senior Center’s pickleball courts recently received a boost in funding. At a Super Bowl Pancake Breakfast event, the Minden Rotary Club and local pickleball players raised $4,000 to help pay for sun shelters.

These shelters will be 12 feet by 12 feet and stand 8 feet tall. Each one costs over $10,000. The donation is a step toward making the courts more comfortable during sunny days.
