Gladstone’s Happy Rockin’ Tournament: The 5th Annual Gladstone Happy Rockin’ Pickleball Tournament will take place August 1–3, 2025, at Max Patterson Park in Gladstone, Oregon. Hosted by Pickleball Is Great, the event invites players of all ages and skill levels for a weekend of friendly competition, prizes, and fun—while also running alongside the Gladstone Community Festival.
The event features a round-robin format with playoffs for gold, silver, and bronze medals. Matches begin on Friday with women’s doubles, followed by mixed doubles on Saturday, and men’s doubles on Sunday. Players will be grouped by skill levels from 3.0 to 4.5+ and age categories that will be finalized after registration closes on July 23.
Festival Fun Meets Competitive Play
The tournament is held in conjunction with the Gladstone Community Festival, giving players and visitors a chance to enjoy food, music, vendors, and more after their matches.
Registration opened on April 15 and costs $50 through June 30, including up to two events. After July 1, the price increases to $60, and late registration after July 23 will cost $70. A $5 non-refundable service fee per event applies. Gladstone Pickleball Club members will receive a $10 discount code by email.
Ratings and Rules
Players must self-rate before signing up and may only play up 0.5 points from their rating. The tournament will consider past tournament performance and rating history, including DUPR and PBR, if any concerns arise about a player’s skill level. The tournament will use the X-40 pickleball and be played outdoors on a tennis surface.
Parking and Parade Info
Parking is free but may be limited due to the festival and a Saturday parade that ends at the park. Alternative parking is available at Gladstone Christian Church on Friday and “The Source” Church on Saturday. On Sunday, players may park at the park.

The round-robin format includes playoffs. Most matches will go to 15 points (win by 2). In some brackets with 7–8 teams, matches may go to 11 by 2. The top four teams in each division will compete for medals.
