Dill Dinkers pickleball center in Atlanta: Dill Dinkers will celebrate the grand opening of its new indoor pickleball center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, April 18, at 11 a.m. The event will take place at the renovated facility located at 1200 White St. in the West End of Atlanta.
New Facility Brings Needed Court Space
The new Dill Dinkers center was created by renovating an old warehouse space. The project was handled by Ackerman & Co. The location is part of a larger plan to meet the growing need for more indoor pickleball courts in Atlanta.
According to franchise operator and Chosewood resident Daniel Hardeman, the Atlanta area has struggled to keep up with demand.
“There’s a shortage of courts and lack of structure for skills progression, so players are turning to places like Dill Dinkers”-( Daniel Hardeman)
More Locations Coming Soon
The West End facility is the first of several planned locations. Dill Dinkers plans to open more centers across Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Gwinnett, and Cherokee counties. Other local franchisees will operate the future centers.
Hardeman also pointed to other factors pushing the need for indoor play.
“Add to that spring’s high pollen counts and pending hot weather, and we knew the demand would be high”-( Daniel Hardeman)
Impact and Future Growth
The opening of Dill Dinkers provides a new option for Atlanta’s 1.1 million estimated pickleball players. It offers a place to play year-round without the challenges of outdoor weather. More locations are expected soon to support the area’s booming interest in the sport.
