David and Brooke Sloane, founders of the Dinx Social Club, have transformed a former grocery store into a top-tier indoor pickleball facility. The club offers six indoor courts, golf simulators, and a self-pour bar, making it a new hub for pickleball enthusiasts in the area.
The Sloanes were inspired to enter the pickleball business during the pandemic, while on a family trip to Florida. After seeing a similar facility, they recognized the potential for such a venue in the Midwest, where weather often limits outdoor play.
State-of-the-Art Design for Premium Play
The Dinx Social Club focuses on providing a high-quality playing experience. The facility boasts ceilings more than 18 feet high, carefully designed lighting, and sound-dampening glass walls between courts. The Sloanes wanted to create a venue that meets the high standards of the growing pickleball community.
Building a Community Around Pickleball
Currently open to all, the Dinx Social Club is focused on building a strong community of pickleball players. In the future, the club will transition to a private-membership model, similar to a golf club. The Sloanes encourage people to visit and experience the club before that shift.
Other Pickleball Options Coming to Highland Park
In addition to Dinx, another indoor pickleball facility, Club Pickle & Padel, is under construction in Highland Park. The city and its Park District are working together to build a 50,000-square-foot dome with 10 pickleball courts and four padel courts, set to open later this year.
