2025 Oak Island Pickleball Tournament:Â A pickleball tournament will be held this weekend at the Middleton Park Complex. The Oak Island Beach Pickles, in partnership with the Southern Pickleball Association, will host the 2025 Spring Pickleball Tournament on April 26-27, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Over 235 participants, ranging from ages 15 to 82, have already signed up for the event, according to organizers. The proceeds from the tournament will go to the Oak Island Friends of Parks Foundation, a non-profit group that supports local parks.
Tournament Details and Parking Information
All pickleball courts at the Middleton Park Complex will be closed to the public during the tournament. Special parking areas for participants and attendees have been designated in several locations:
Town Employee Parking Lot on SE 46th St.
Visitor Parking spaces behind Town Hall.
Public Services Building Parking Lot on SE 47th St.
E.F. Middleton Playground parking on SE 47th St.
Although there are no permanent street closures planned, drivers are advised to expect heavy traffic around the area. Traffic signs and control officers will direct drivers, and extra caution is encouraged, especially at SE 46th St., SE 47th St., and SE 49th St., where pedestrians may be crossing.
