The Drop In Pickleball Facility: A $3.8 million mixed-use development is proposed in the Grove district of St. Louis, combining a recreational pickleball facility with residential units. The project, named “The Drop In,” is spearheaded by competitive pickleball player Jill Dierberg Clark. Located at 1083 Newstead Ave., the development aims to enhance community engagement and promote the growing sport of pickleball.
Project Details
The Drop In will feature three indoor pickleball courts and a clubhouse. The existing two-story home on the property will be renovated into a rental unit. A new residential building with a two-story primary residence and an apartment on the second floor will also be constructed.
Dierberg Clark plans to reside on-site and operate the facility, offering a boutique experience that aligns with the unique character of the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood.
Community Impact
The Forest Park Southeast Development Committee approved a zoning variance for the project in April 2025. Construction is expected to begin later this year, with the goal of providing the first indoor pickleball courts within the city of St. Louis. Dierberg Clark envisions the facility as a destination that will attract visitors and foster a sense of community among local residents.
