Charlotte’s Rally Pickleball Club: A new restaurant will open this summer next to the Rally Pickleball Club in Charlotte’s Lower South End. Rally’s co-founders have teamed up with local Chef Andres Kaifer to bring a neighborhood-style dining spot to the Southside Drive location.
Pickleball Meets Local Cuisine
Rally, founded by Meg Charity and Barrett Worthington, opened in 2023 with eight pickleball courts, a bar, café, and ping-pong tables. The club focuses on building community through fun and accessible activities.
The new restaurant is part of that vision. It will feature a cozy setting and serve a seasonal menu with both small and large plates. Chef Kaifer, known for Customshop and Marina’s Tapas, will lead the kitchen and design the menu.
Working With a Familiar Face
The founders say the choice to work with Kaifer was easy due to their admiration for his restaurants.
“We started Rally to foster community in Charlotte,” said Worthington. “We love the social aspect of food and this restaurant will help us share our passion for cultivating community, similar to the energy felt at Rally every day. Andres’s incredible talent and expertise alongside our personal love for Customshop made the choice to work with him clear.”
What’s Next for Rally and Charlotte Diners
With Kaifer guiding the kitchen, the team plans to update the menu every few months. The restaurant’s name has not yet been announced, but it’s expected to launch before the end of summer. The addition could bring even more foot traffic to Rally and further strengthen its role as a social hub in Lower South End.
