New Rudolph Pickleball Complex Aims to Transform Murray Into Regional Sports Hotspot

The new Rudolph Pickleball Complex in Murray, Kentucky, officially opened its doors on April 21. Built by the Murray Pickleball Association, the facility is located at 900 Arcadia Circle and aims to become a central hub for players across western Kentucky and nearby states. The group hopes it brings people together through sport.

A Dream Becomes Reality

Just months ago, the site was only a dirt lot. Today, it is home to Phase 1 of a tournament-level pickleball complex near the corner of North Eighth Street and Gil Hopson Drive, close to Murray’s Central Park. The grand opening was the result of years of hard work and planning by the Murray Pickleball Association.

Inspired by Other Courts

Members of the Murray Pickleball Association visited 15 different pickleball venues in five states before building their own. They used those trips to decide which ideas would work best in Murray. Their goal was to create more than just a set of courts.

Building for Fun and Community

“You’d come out here at night and not only would there be a lot of people playing, but you’d hear people laughing and having a good time and that was, you know, that’s what we were shooting for,” said Randy Herndon with the Murray Pickleball Association.

Next Steps for the Project

Phase 2 of the Rudolph Pickleball Complex is still in progress. The full plan includes 10 courts, and five are already finished. The association is collecting donations online to fund the final five. The completed complex will welcome players from across the region and create more chances for events and tournaments.
