Richmond’s First Pickleball Festival Serves Up Fun, Food, and Fierce Competition at Regency Mall

Richmond Pickleball Festival Event: People from Richmond and beyond gathered at Regency Mall in Henrico, Virginia, on Saturday for a pickleball festival. The event, hosted by Performance Pickleball RVA, was the first of its kind in the area and aimed to teach and entertain fans of the fast-growing sport.

Visitors enjoyed playing pickleball, learning the basics, and meeting other fans. The festival included lessons for beginners, giving new players the chance to try the sport. Music, food trucks, and shopping vendors made the day feel like a true celebration.

Pickleball and Community Come Together

Performance Pickleball RVA created the event to show why pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. The festival brought together new and experienced players in a fun, relaxed setting.

The event included live music and food trucks, giving families and players plenty to enjoy. Vendors also offered pickleball merchandise, helping fans get geared up for the game.

Visitors Travel to Join the Fun

Keven Casey traveled four hours to attend the festival. He’s working toward becoming a certified pickleball coach and came to learn more about the sport.

“Pickleball is growing. I have my own set up, my paddles, my ball, been watching a lot of YouTube videos and playing, and I’m trying to get the certification. It’s not easy. I think it’s easier to just play than it would be to learn the rules, learn the dimensions of the court, and actually try to teach other people.” – (Casey)

People like Keven Casey showed that the sport is pulling in fans from all over, each with different goals and experiences.

Looking Ahead

The Henrico pickleball event showed how popular and welcoming the sport has become. Events like this may help more people get involved, especially younger players or families looking for a fun, social activity. With strong support from groups like Performance Pickleball RVA, the sport is likely to grow even more in the Richmond area.
