Pickleball Expansion at Cameron Brown Park: Construction has begun on a major pickleball court expansion at Cameron Brown Park in Germantown, Tennessee. The $602,403.95 project will add two new courts, a restroom, and improve accessibility. The goal is to support community health and meet growing demand for more recreational space.
Work Begins on Expansion
The City of Germantown has officially started work on the Cameron Brown Pickleball Expansion project. Crews have fenced off the construction area, and the city has asked visitors to use the park entrance instead of the path through the Bob Hailey Athletic Complex during the project.
The project was approved by the Germantown Board of Mayor and Aldermen and is funded with over $600,000. It will add two high-quality post-tension concrete pickleball courts to help reduce wait times. A permanent restroom and accessibility improvements are also planned.
Supporting All Ages
This new project is part of Germantown’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan and the Active Aging Needs Assessment. The improvements aim to make the park better for people of all ages and physical abilities.
Germantown officials say the project is meant to promote community wellness and increase access to recreation. The courts are expected to serve the rising number of pickleball players in the area.
Temporary Changes and Updates
While work is underway, the city recommends avoiding the blocked entrance near the Bob Hailey Athletic Complex. People should instead enter directly from Cameron Brown Park.
Updates on the project’s progress will be shared with the public. Anyone with questions about construction or how it affects park use can call the Parks and Recreation office.
