Monteleone Launches Adult Pickleball Lessons in Farmingdale

Monteleone’s Summer Pickleball Lessons: Oyster Bay Town Councilman Andrew Monteleone announced that adults can now register for summer pickleball lessons starting June 17. The lessons will take place at Allen Park in Farmingdale and are open to all adults looking to learn the game or improve their skills.

Lessons for All Skill Levels Start in June

The lessons are designed for adults aged 18 and older. Players can sign up based on their experience, with three levels available: beginner, advanced beginner, and intermediate. Each session will be one and a half hours long and run once a week for four straight weeks. Councilman Andrew Monteleone shared the benefits of the sport, saying,

“What makes pickleball truly special is its accessibility. It’s a sport that welcomes players of all ages and abilities, providing a low-impact yet exhilarating way to stay active and socialize. Whether you’re playing for fitness, recreation, or competition, pickleball offers endless opportunities for enjoyment.” – (Andrew Monteleone)

Registration Dates and Fees

Residents can register online on beginning Monday, May 12 at 9:00 a.m. The fee for residents is $75. They must upload proof of residency, such as a utility or tax bill, along with a valid photo ID like a driver’s license.

Non-residents can sign up starting Monday, May 19 at 9:00 a.m., and their fee is $100. All participants are required to wear sneakers and bring their paddle. A small number of paddles will be available for borrowing.

A Sport That Keeps Growing

The town’s effort to offer these lessons shows the growing interest in pickleball across all age groups. With a focus on health, fun, and community, these lessons give adults a chance to stay active and connect with others. The program is expected to attract newcomers and returning players ready to sharpen their skills.
