Watertown Opens State-of-the-Art Pickleball Complex, Uniting Community in Grand Celebration

Watertown’s New Pickleball Complex: A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held today to celebrate the opening of Watertown’s new pickleball complex at the Prairie Lakes Wellness Center. Community members, the Watertown Pickleball Association, and the Watertown Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Board all gathered to mark the occasion. The new courts reflect the town’s goal to expand recreational choices through teamwork and planning.

Speeches Highlight Community Effort

Nate Graf, President of the Watertown Parks and Recreation Board, opened the event. He praised the strong support and teamwork that made the complex possible. Graf also thanked the many volunteers and donors who helped turn the plan into reality.

Speaking for the city, Councilman Bruce Buhler said the new complex shows how well public and private groups can work together. Buhler encouraged residents to use the new facility.

Pickleball Association and Donors Honored

Jolette Kosier, speaking for the Watertown Pickleball Association, talked about the hard work that went into the project. Kosier thanked the City of Watertown for giving the land and helping with funds.

She also gave special thanks to Doug Sharp of Sharp Chevrolet and the Watertown Area Community Foundation. Sponsors were recognized with their names placed on pickleball paddles along the court fences and on a recognition board.

Kosier shared the vision behind the complex. She said the goal was to “create a pickleball complex that serves all ages, abilities, and interests,” with programs for kids, resources for seniors, and a fun place for families.

A Big Step for Watertown

The opening of this new complex is an important moment for Watertown. It adds more ways for people to stay active and spend time together. The city hopes the courts become a busy, welcoming place for the whole community.
