Gustine’s Pickleball for a Cause Unites Community for Valley Children’s Hospital

Gustine’s Pickleball for a Cause: On May 31, Gustine will host the first Pickleball for a Cause tournament at Harry P. Schmidt Park. Organized by Daniel Gomes, the event brings players of all ages and skill levels together to raise money for Valley Children’s Hospital. All funds raised will support the hospital’s care for children and families in the Valley.

Daniel Gomes created Pickleball for a Cause to turn his passion for pickleball into help for the community. The pickleball tournament promises a day full of fun activities beyond the games, including bounce houses, food vendors, live DJ music, and a silent auction. Attendees will enjoy raffles, a photo booth, and prizes for the most creatively dressed players.

Event Details and Registration

The final chance to register in person is on May 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Gustine Tennis & Pickleball Court. Spaces are limited and filling quickly across all divisions.

The entry fee is $50 per person, and every team will play at least three games. Warm-ups begin at 8 a.m. on the day of the tournament. Spectators are encouraged to come and cheer on the players while enjoying the event’s activities.

“We’ve seen so much support already. But there’s still time to join. Even if you don’t play, just showing up, helping out, or sharing the word can make a difference.” – (gomes)

A Community United by Purpose

Pickleball for a Cause is more than a tournament—it is a chance to bring communities together and support families facing difficult times.

“This isn’t just about raising money. It’s about building something meaningful—bringing people together and showing how one community can come together for another.” – (gomes)

The event aims to create a joyful experience for everyone involved. Each game played, each laugh shared, will help lighten the load for families relying on Valley Children’s Hospital.

Looking Ahead

By combining sport, fun, and charity, Pickleball for a Cause shows how small efforts can have big impacts.

“Together, we can make a difference for Valley Children’s Hospital—one match at a time.” – (gomes)
