Warsaw Parks Launches Pickleball Clinics for All Ages—Free Spots for Kids!

Warsaw Parks Launches Pickleball Clinics: The Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department will offer free pickleball clinics for kids and paid sessions for adults this June at the K21 Courts in Bixler Park, located at 503 North Detroit Street in Warsaw, Indiana. Registration is open and required for all sessions, with limited space available.

Free Clinics for Kids

Children ages 8 to 12 can join the free pickleball clinics on Monday, June 16; Wednesday, June 18; and Friday, June 20. Each session runs from 10 to 11 a.m. and will be taught by instructor Dave Thieme.

Kids can attend any number of sessions, but the lessons are designed to build skills over the week. The program is free, but all participants must register in advance.

No same-day signups will be accepted. Registration is open from May 19 through June 12, or until spots are filled. Dave Thieme will teach the basics, including how to “dink along with the best of them.”

Pickleball Clinics for Adults

Adults can also sign up for evening pickleball clinics throughout June. All classes take place at the K21 Courts in Bixler Park. Each session costs $20 per person.

The schedule includes:

  • Introduction to Pickleball — Wednesday, June 11 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.
  • Instruct & Play — Thursday, June 12 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.
  • Better Backhand Shots — Tuesday, June 24 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Drive or Drop — Thursday, June 26 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

All adult classes will be led by Dave Thieme. Paddles and other equipment will be provided. Sessions will be in small groups so each player can get personal instruction. While players may attend individual classes, the sessions are designed to build upon each other.

Registration for adult clinics is open from May 19 through June 9, or until each session reaches its 10-player limit.

Why It Matters

These clinics give kids and adults a chance to learn and improve their skills. Whether new to the sport or looking to sharpen a backhand, participants will gain hands-on experience with guidance from a skilled instructor. The program also supports a growing interest in pickleball in the Warsaw area.
