Nike Junior Pickleball Camp Brings Fast-Paced Fun and Pro Coaching to San Antonio Kids This Summer

The Nike Junior Pickleball Camp will be held at Dill Dinkers in San Antonio, Texas, from July 7 to 11, 2025. Led by Camp Director Sal Castillo and his team of certified instructors, the day camp runs from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Open to boys and girls ages 9 to 13 of all skill levels, the camp focuses on helping young players learn and grow in the fast-growing sport of pickleball in a fun, positive environment.

A Week of Pickleball and Fun for Kids

Dill Dinkers, a pickleball facility with five dedicated courts, will serve as the venue for this week-long camp. The goal is to offer a high-energy experience that mixes learning and play. Campers will rotate through different stations during camp hours to keep things exciting and make sure everyone stays active.

Campers will receive instruction in grips, stroke development, court etiquette, and strategy. The coaching team is led by Sal Castillo and described as fun and versatile. The staff uses a mix of teaching methods to match all skill levels, ensuring that each child is grouped based on their ability and age.

Details About Camp Levels and Structure

Campers are divided into three skill levels. Beginners are new to pickleball and focus on learning the basics, rules, and scoring. Intermediate players can rally, use spins, and start developing strategic thinking. Advanced players, often with a DUPR rating of 4.0 or higher, already understand gameplay well and work on tactics and advanced shots.

All participants are evaluated on the first day to ensure proper group placement, and changes can be made during the week if needed. The camp provides four hours of court instruction and match play each day.

What Campers Need to Know Before Arriving

Campers should bring their pickleball paddle, proper court shoes (no running shoes), athletic clothing, a water bottle, and optional snacks. A warm-up jacket or sweatshirt is also suggested. Signed health and release forms are required, though those submitted online do not need to be printed.

Check-in takes place daily between 12:45 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., with pickup at 5:00 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue. Housing and meals are not included, as this is a day camp only. Families must handle overnight arrangements themselves.

The camp also has a low camper-to-staff ratio, ensuring that every child receives focused attention from coaches.

Camp Policies and Travel Planning

If a camper cannot attend, the camp offers a credit voucher valid for one year if the cancellation is made at least 24 hours in advance. Refunds are only available if Cancellation Protection was bought at registration and cancellation is made before the payment due date.

Travel and lodging are not handled by the camp. Families are advised to make flexible plans in case the schedule changes.

What Comes Next for Young Pickleball Players

With pickleball becoming the fastest-growing sport in the United States, this camp helps young players learn more about the game while making new friends. Whether they are just starting or already playing competitively, campers will leave with stronger skills and a deeper love for the sport.

Nike Pickleball Camps continue to expand their offerings across the country, and events like the one in San Antonio provide young athletes with the chance to grow on and off the court.
