Lakemore Reveals Exciting Plans for Dodds Park: Pickleball Court to Transform Local Recreation

Dodds Park Pickleball Court Renovation: The Village of Lakemore plans to add a pickleball court at Dodds Lakefront Park. On May 19, the Village Council approved a resolution to apply for an Ohio Natureworks Grant. The grant would help renovate part of the current basketball courts at 2425 Lakeside Drive into a new pickleball court.

Administrator Tracy Sayers said the renovation will keep one side of the courts for basketball and convert the other for pickleball. She added that pickleball is a great way for people of all ages to exercise and socialize.

Renovation Plans at Dodds Lakefront Park

The project will transform part of the existing basketball courts at Dodds Lakefront Park into a pickleball court. This change aims to add more recreational options to the park. By sharing the space between basketball and pickleball, the park will serve a wider range of interests.

Council Approval and Grant Application

The Village Council’s approval allows the village to seek funding through the Ohio Natureworks Grant. This grant is designed to support improvements in outdoor spaces like parks and sports facilities. If awarded, the grant money will help pay for the court renovations.

Benefits of Pickleball for the Community

Administrator Tracy Sayers highlighted pickleball’s benefits. This addition will encourage more community members to stay active and enjoy time together outdoors.
