Brattleboro Launches Exciting Pickleball Camp: The Brattleboro Recreation and Parks Department and Morris Kimura have announced a new Pickleball Camp this summer for students in 5th through 12th grade. The camp will take place at the Living Memorial Park Tennis Courts in Brattleboro, Vermont, and is designed to teach students the basics of pickleball.
Camp Dates and Times
The camp for 5th through 8th grade students will run from July 14 to July 18. Camp for 9th through 12th-grade students will be held from July 21 to July 25. Both sessions will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. All activities will be held at the Living Memorial Park Tennis Courts.
Skills and Activities
Students will learn key skills such as the underhand serve, the drive, the dink, and the volley. Campers will also learn how to play doubles, including the basic rules and some beginner strategies. Each session includes warm-ups, stretching, and drills for agility and mobility.
What to Bring and Cost Details
Participants are asked to bring a pickleball paddle if they have one and a water bottle. The cost is $50 for Brattleboro residents and $65 for non-residents. This camp offers an affordable way for students to learn a new sport or improve their skills.
