Puyallup Paddle Battle: Pickleball Takes Center Stage at The Taste Northwest’s Debut Tournament

Puyallup Paddle Battle Pickleball Tournament: The Taste Northwest will host its first-ever pickleball tournament, called the Puyallup Paddle Battle, from June 27 to June 29, 2025. The event takes place at the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup, Washington, and is open to a limited number of teams. The games will be played on professional courts. Spectators are welcome to attend.

This new tournament is part of The Taste Northwest, a popular weekend event that features food, drinks, music, and other activities. Pickleball players from across the Pacific Northwest are expected to join in the action. Registration is open now, but space is limited for teams who want to compete.

A New Pickleball Tradition

The Puyallup Paddle Battle marks the first time The Taste Northwest is adding pickleball to its schedule. The tournament includes three days of competition: women’s doubles will be played on June 27, mixed doubles on June 28, and men’s doubles on June 29.

Pickleball has become one of the most played sports in Washington, with many calling it the state’s unofficial game. Now, this growing sport is getting a bigger stage at one of the area’s largest summer events.

Watch or Play

While only a limited number of teams can sign up to play, anyone can watch the matches live. All games will be held on professional pickleball courts at the fairgrounds. The event promises fun and fast-paced action for players and fans.

What It Means

The addition of the Puyallup Paddle Battle shows how quickly pickleball is growing in popularity. Hosting the tournament at The Taste Northwest could help bring more attention to the sport and make it a key part of local festivals in the future. If successful, the event may return next year with even more teams and fans.
