Inside St. Pete Athletic Pickleball Club: The Mega Club Redefining Sports, Social Life, and Luxury in St. Petersburg

St. Pete Athletic Pickleball Club: A large new sports and social club called St. Pete Athletic Paddle & Social is being built in St. Petersburg’s Warehouse Arts District. The 45,000-square-foot facility will have 14 pickleball courts, multiple bars, a private social club, and other sports options. It is located at 2544 Fairfield Avenue South inside The Factory, a local arts and culture hub. The club plans a soft opening in August 2025.

The club was created by Reuben Pressman, Graham D’Amico, Jarrett Sabatini, and Nathan Stonecipher. It will offer much more than pickleball, including padel, table tennis, billiards, a gym, saunas, cold plunges, and three bars — one exclusively for members. The space was designed by local firm Wannemacher Jensen Architects.

Facilities and Membership Perks

St. Pete Athletic will feature six cabana-style table tennis stations and two indoor grass and turf courts for padel, a racket sport played in doubles on a smaller court. All courts should be ready by July 2025.

Memberships currently cost $250 a month for individuals, $450 for couples, and $600 for families. Most memberships are nearly sold out, and a waitlist will start once full.

Members get special perks like unlimited open play, access to members-only courts and lounges, a private garden, preferred restaurant and pro shop pricing, full locker rooms and showers, and unlimited fitness studio use. The club will be open to the public but non-members will have limited access.

Players won’t need reservations for open courts or events, but members will get priority booking. The club will use sports technology like live scoreboards and instant replay. Players can also use a mobile app to reserve courts or book lessons.

A Place to Play, Socialize, and Relax

Guests can enjoy cocktails while watching games from seats overlooking the courts. Green Bench Brewing will offer craft beers such as IPAs, lagers, and stouts. Other bars will serve classic and seasonal cocktails, and there will be a coffee and tea program with house-made drinks.

The club’s restaurant, led by Jarrett Sabatini, will offer classic country club meals made from scratch. Food and drinks can be ordered throughout the club, including courtside via iPads or QR codes.

St. Pete Athletic has attracted investors like Cathie Wood (ARK Invest founder), Neptune Flood’s Trevor Burgess and Jon Carlon, pro pickleball players Catherine Parenteau and Travis Rettenmaier, and former WTA CEO Larry Scott.

This club will be the only place in Florida offering pickleball, padel, and table tennis under one roof. It will also be the first in St. Petersburg to have more than six pickleball courts. The club will offer lessons, clinics, tournaments, leagues, and kids’ camps year-round. It will operate daily from 5 a.m. to midnight. Reuben Pressman told St. Pete Rising,

“The club is designed to provide a full experience for players and the public to play sports and connect in a fun, elevated atmosphere.” – (Pressman)
