World Pickleball Tour in Arvada: The World Pickleball Tour is returning to the Denver area from May 30 to June 1, 2025. The event will take place at the Apex Simms Street Recreation Center in Arvada, Colorado. This amateur tournament will give players a chance to compete in a fun, friendly environment and earn a spot at the 2025 WPT Amateur Invitational Championships.
The World Pickleball Tour is a national series made for amateur players. In 2024, it hosted 25 events, and in 2025, that number is growing to nearly 35. Every event is called a “challenger” event. This means that medal winners get a special discount to join the big WPT Amateur Invitational Championships. That event will bring top amateur players together to compete for a total of $175,000 in prize money.
What Players Need to Know
The tournament will use a Round Robin format followed by bracket play. Each player will get to play six games, and each game will go to 11 points, win by 2. The event is unsanctioned, but scores will be linked to DUPR ratings.
Players will compete in skill and age levels, from 3.0 to 5.0 and ages 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, and 60+. A 70+ age group may be added after registration closes. Players 18 and under can register in the 19+ group.
Each player who signs up will get a World Pickleball Tour DRIFIT t-shirt, free photos from the event, and their scores will be added to their DUPR profiles. There will also be free prize raffles, including luxury bags and paddles.
After registration closes and the schedule is finalized, players may be allowed to enter a second event on the same day, if time allows. This gives players a chance to test their skills at a higher level.
Important Registration Rules
There are important rules for those signing up for doubles. Once one player registers, their partner must register within two days. If not, the first player will be put on a waiting list. Emails will go out to both players in that case. If the second partner signs up in time and there is still space, the pair will be removed from the waiting list and allowed to compete.
Why It Matters
The return of the World Pickleball Tour to Arvada is another sign of the sport’s fast growth in Colorado and across the country. By creating more events just for amateurs, WPT is helping new and rising players experience high-level play in a welcoming setting. The chance to earn a spot at the 2025 WPT Amateur Invitational Championships, with $175,000 up for grabs, adds even more excitement.
