Tri-Cities Pickleball Tournament: A four-day pickleball tournament called the Rally for Roofs started on Thursday to raise money for Holston Habitat for Humanity. The event is being held at three locations in the Tri-Cities area: Kingsport Riverview Pickleball Center, Johnson City Memorial Center Pickleball Courts, and E-Town Pickleball at The Warehouse.
More than 250 players are competing in the tournament, which aims to support Holston Habitat for Humanity’s work in the community. Laura Kelly, the Executive Director of Holston Habitat for Humanity, said the event was designed to raise funds and to offer competitive play for local pickleball players.
A Community Event with a Cause
The Rally for Roofs tournament is a special event that raises money to help local families through Holston Habitat for Humanity. The group works to build and improve homes for people in need.
“We wanted to host an event where, obviously, Holston Habitat could raise funds that we can give back to the community, hence the name Rally for Roofs.” – (Laura Kelly)
Competitive Play for Local Players
The tournament is also meant to bring together serious pickleball players in the area.
“But we also wanted to create an event that was at a certain level of play, so that our local pickleball community could be competitive.” – (Laura Kelly)
With more than 250 participants, the event offers strong competition while supporting a good cause.
Multiple Venues, More Participation
The games are held at three venues across the Tri-Cities region, making it easy for more players and fans to join. The locations are Kingsport Riverview Pickleball Center, Johnson City Memorial Center Pickleball Courts, and E-Town Pickleball at The Warehouse.
The tournament shows how sports events can bring a community together to help others. It raises money for housing projects while giving players a chance to compete and enjoy pickleball.
