Indoor Pickleball Facility in Moorhead: Courts & Pints, a new indoor pickleball complex in south Moorhead, is opening its courts to the public on Monday, June 2. The facility features 15 pickleball courts and is located in the former Family Fare grocery store building on Eighth Street near Brookdale Mall.
The project was created by Jon Norberg, his brother Frank Norberg, and their friend Kelly Lancaster. While the courts open today, the restaurant and bar inside the complex will open later this summer. The large building will also offer 10 event rooms, an outdoor patio, and a coffee and smoothie bar.
Facility Features and Membership Plans
Jon Norberg said the space is designed for fun and convenience. In addition to the 15 main courts, there is a half-court for practice that includes a wall to hit balls against. A total of eight indoor bag toss lanes are also part of the design, and these can convert to event spaces.
Three membership levels will be offered. Bronze is free and allows players to book courts up to seven days ahead. Silver and Gold memberships come with fees, but include some court time and credits for the restaurant and bar. These higher levels allow players to reserve courts further in advance.
“You get more time to plan ahead to make sure that you have what you want when you want it,” Jon Norberg said. He added that more than 600 people have already signed up for memberships.
Pickleball Championships and Coaching
Dustin Betlach is the general manager of Courts & Pints. He was joined by Chris Dew, who shares the role of director of pickleball at the complex with his wife Nicolle Dew, to give a tour before the opening. Dew is also on the board of the FM Pickleball Club and said the complex will have six instructors, including himself.
Courts & Pints will host the North Dakota state pickleball championships this September. Chris Dew confirmed the event will serve as a qualifier for the world championships in Dallas, Texas.

Additional Amenities and Next Steps
Jon Norberg mentioned that once the event rooms are complete, guests will be able to book a room close to their assigned court. The complex will also feature three self-serve tap walls.
Acoustic tiles are still being installed to reduce the sound of pickleball games, which Norberg noted can get loud. He said the tiles are being shipped from China, and some furniture is also waiting to be installed. Courts & Pints will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., welcoming casual players and competitive athletes.
