The Sunshine Coast Pickleball Association is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its popular Arena Bowl pickleball tournament this weekend in Gibsons. More than 100 players, ranging in age from 10 to 82, will compete for medals in singles and doubles divisions on June 7 and June 8.
Tournament Draws Players From Across the Region
Participants come from the Sunshine Coast, Squamish, Powell River, Vancouver, and even as far away as Winnipeg. The event will take place at the Gibsons and Area Community Centre. Spectators are welcome to attend and watch players compete in singles, men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles matches.
Community and Celebration
In addition to the tournament, the organization will host its second annual Burger & Brew event on Saturday at the Sunshine Coast Golf & Country Club, providing an opportunity for members and guests to gather and celebrate.
About the Association
The Sunshine Coast Pickleball Association, a non-profit organization founded in 2009, promotes goodwill, fellowship, fitness, and healthy competition among its members. The association currently has about 400 members, though it lacks a permanent facility.
