Botetourt County Opens New Pickleball and Sports Courts at Blue Ridge Park

Blue Ridge Park Gets New Pickleball Courts: Botetourt County, Virginia, celebrated the opening of new pickleball courts at Blue Ridge Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday. The project also included updates to the park’s tennis and basketball courts, giving the aging facilities a fresh new look. The renovated courts aim to attract more community members to enjoy outdoor sports.

Reviving Community Sports Spaces

The tennis and basketball courts at Blue Ridge Park were previously in need of repair. The recent upgrades have transformed the area into a modern sports hub for the local community.

During the opening event, members of Performance Pickleball demonstrated the game and offered lessons to visitors. Their participation helped introduce more people to this fast-growing sport.

A Park for Everyone

Victor Morales, Director of Botetourt County Parks and Recreation, expressed his enthusiasm about the renovations.

“Now that we have this tennis-, pickleball-, basketball-renovated options, there’s baseball fields, soccer fields; there’s really… playgrounds and something for everybody. So, I just encourage the public to come out here, explore the parks, see what’s in your backyard.” – (Victor Morales)

Blue Ridge Park is open year-round, from dawn to dusk, providing residents with ample opportunities to enjoy its diverse facilities.
