Neighbor Network Pickleball Fundraiser: Neighbor Network of Northern Nevada (N4) is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a community pickleball party. The pickleball event, open to all ages and skill levels, takes place Saturday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Reno Tennis Center in Reno, Nevada. It also highlights N4’s expanding programs.
Pickleball Party Brings Together Community and Fitness
The pickleball celebration aims to combine fun, fitness, and fundraising. The event offers open play, free lessons, equipment, music, raffles, and food from La Favorita taco truck. Tickets cost $20.
The first 50 people to RSVP on Eventbrite will receive vouchers for two free tacos. The event is designed to welcome players of all skill levels and foster community connections.
Highlighting a Decade of Inclusive Programs
Neighbor Network of Northern Nevada is celebrating a decade of building programs that connect people of all ages and abilities.
Amy Dewitt-Smith, founder and executive director of N4, and Jackie Shelton, communications manager, spoke about the event during a Morning Break interview.
Expansion of Community Care Program Announced
During the celebration, N4 will also introduce the expansion of its Community Care program. Starting in summer 2025, the program will include private pay options for personal care services.
These services will cover help with dressing, meal preparation, home management, medication reminders, transportation, and more. The goal is to reach even more people across Northern Nevada.
Support for a Growing Community
Amy Dewitt-Smith and Jackie Shelton emphasized that the pickleball event and program expansion reflect N4’s mission to build an inclusive, neighbor-powered network.
The June 7 event is not only a celebration of the organization’s success but also a look ahead to its next chapter of service and growth.
