Pink Pickleball Courts and Big Hearts: Local Teens Rally for Breast Cancer Support

Two local teens, Nicolas Folsom and Hadley Moser, were honored at Wednesday’s city council meeting for their impactful charity work centered around pickleball. The duo raised $10,000 for breast cancer patients at Salem Regional Medical Center and helped transform the two pickleball courts at Greasel Park by painting them pink to raise awareness during their annual tournament.

Pickleball Courts Turn Pink

Last year’s tournament was a standout event for the community, combining the growing popularity of pickleball with a meaningful cause. The pink-painted courts became a symbol of hope and support for breast cancer patients, drawing players and spectators to rally for awareness and fundraising.

Tournament Inspires Community and Becomes Annual Tradition

Folsom, who started the Teen Health and Medical Society Club at Canfield High School, and Moser, have committed to making the pickleball tournament an annual event. This year’s plans are already underway, with both teens eager to continue using the sport they love to make a positive difference.

City Honors Pickleball Champions with Special Day

In recognition of their efforts, Canfield Mayor Don Dragish declared June 15, 2025, as Nicolas Folsom and Hadley Moser Day, honoring their dedication to using pickleball to support breast cancer care. Both were presented with official proclamations during the council meeting.
