Youth in Benton, Arkansas, will get the chance to learn and play pickleball this summer through a special six-week program. The 2025 Youth Pickleball program will run from June 8 to July 21 at the River Center Gymnasium, led by instructor Lauren Brown. Sessions will be held every Monday and Tuesday evening.
Skill and Game Practice Combined
The pickleball program is made for children in three age groups: 10 and under, 12 and under, and 16 and under. It is designed to teach young players the basics of pickleball, including form, rules, and gameplay.
On Mondays, kids will learn proper form and rules of the game. Tuesdays are set aside for match play, helping participants get hands-on experience.
Age-Based Schedule and Flexibility
The time slots for each group are as follows:
10 and under at 6:00 p.m.
12 and under at 7:00 p.m.
16 and under at 8:00 p.m.
Depending on how many kids sign up, some groups may be combined and placed in earlier time slots.
Equipment and Special Gifts
All needed equipment will be provided at no extra cost. Also, each child who signs up will get a free pickleball paddle and ball. This gift is sponsored by Rowdy Hog Pickleball, a supporter of the youth program.
Classes will take place at the Indoor Pickleball Courts inside the River Center, located at 1800 Citizens Drive, Benton, Arkansas.
Building the Future of the Sport
Instructor Lauren Brown will lead the program, helping young players grow their skills in a fun and safe space. The goal is to teach not only the rules but also teamwork and healthy habits. This program may also help build a new generation of pickleball players in the local community.
