Palm Desert Pickleball Clinic Brings Advanced Court Skills to Life in August Sessions

Palm Desert Pickleball Clinic: Pickleball players looking to sharpen their skills can join a special clinic for intermediate to advanced levels starting August 8, 2025. The sessions will take place every Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Palm Desert Community Center, located at 43-900 San Pablo Avenue in Palm Desert, California.

Designed for Skilled Players

The clinic is tailored for adults who already play at an intermediate to advanced level. These players can reliably control their shots, even at faster speeds, and are learning to improve shot variety and placement. They are also starting to use advanced moves like the “third shot drop,” and are adding soft shots, dinks, lobs, and angled plays into their game.

Group Instruction with Mary Barsaleau

Each session will be led by instructor Mary Barsaleau and held in the gymnasium at the Palm Desert Community Center. The clinic runs from August 7 to August 28, 2025. While sessions are held weekly on Fridays, drop-ins may be allowed if approved by the instructor in advance.

Players approved for drop-in attendance must pay before the clinic date and bring the receipt with them to show the instructor. This option allows flexibility for those who cannot commit to all four sessions.

Building Confidence and Court Strategy

The clinic helps players develop better control and confidence in their net play. While they may still be working on the depth and consistency of their shots, the drills are designed to help them take the next step in their pickleball journey through repetition and strategy practice.

Benefits for the Pickleball Community

These clinics provide structured practice in a group setting, helping players improve while connecting with others who play at a similar level. With the sport growing rapidly, programs like this help support skill development and keep players active in the game.
