Coon Rapids Pickleball Courts: The Coon Rapids City Council is considering building two new pickleball courts next to its tennis court area. On June 2, the council supported a plan to apply for grants to help pay for the project. Final plans will depend on whether the city receives funding.
Grant Application Underway
At the June 2 meeting, the Coon Rapids Park and Recreation Board updated the city council about available grants. They requested permission to apply for this funding to help cover the costs of adding the new courts.
The board is also thinking about fixing the surface of the existing tennis court near the Coon Rapids Aquatic Center.
Next Steps Depend on Funding
Right now, the full project is not approved. It depends on how much money the city can get through the grants. If the funding is secured, the city council will review the project again in future meetings.
