Soo Pickleball Unveils Exciting Summer Lineup—New Games, Training, and a Major Tournament Await Members

Soo Pickleball Summer Activities Lineup: Soo Pickleball has opened registration for its summer programs, inviting members to join weekly round robins, July training sessions, and a competitive tournament in August. Events will be held at Soo Pickleball courts starting June 19, offering fun and learning opportunities for all players.

Weekly Round Robin Matches

From June 19 to August 28, Soo Pickleball will host round robin sessions every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The fee is $50, and players will be grouped by skill levels. Matches are casual, scores are not recorded, and each player will have a chance to compete with and against many different people.

These pickleball sessions are designed to be fun and social rather than competitive. All participants must be Soo Pickleball members and must register online to secure their spots.

July “Tips & Tricks” Sessions and Mentorship

In addition to the round robin, Soo Pickleball will offer a one-hour “Tips & Tricks” session every Thursday in July from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The cost for these sessions is $25. These training events aim to help players improve their skills through coaching and shared experiences.

Soo Pickleball is also calling for experienced players to become mentors. These volunteer leaders will support and guide newer players during activities. Mentors must register online but can do so for free.

Competitive Tournament in August

For players looking for more intense competition, the True North Sault Ste. Marie Open Tournament will take place in August. Participants can sign up with a partner or use the “Find a Partner” feature during registration. Details and sign-up options are available online.

A Summer of Pickleball Fun

Soo Pickleball’s summer events highlight the club’s focus on both fun and development. With games for all skill levels and a mix of casual and competitive play, the program encourages players to stay active, learn, and connect with others in the community.
