Ready to Level Up? Pickleball 102 Supervised Practice Returns to Huguenot Park This June

Pickleball 102 Supervised Practice: A supervised practice course called Pickleball 102 – Supervised Practice Drill and Play will take place on Mondays from June 16 to June 30, 2025, at Huguenot Park, located at 10901 Robious Road in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The sessions run from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and are led by instructor Brian Garbera.

Course Details and Requirements

This course is designed for players who already know the basics of pickleball and are ready to improve their skills. It is meant to help participants feel ready to join Beginner or Advanced Beginner Leagues and Open Play sessions.

This is not a beginner class. Anyone who signs up should have already completed Pickleball Beginner 101 and passed it. However, players with at least six months of consistent experience may join if they receive permission from instructor Brian Garbera before signing up.

Participants must bring their own paddle. All pickleballs will be provided by the instructor. Players are also required to wear eye protection such as eyeglasses, sunglasses, safety glasses, or empty frames. Only court-appropriate shoes like tennis, pickleball, or volleyball shoes are allowed. Sunscreen is also recommended.

Class Topics and Backup Plan

The course is spread over three sessions. The first class will focus on The Short Game, the second on The Full Court Game, and the final session on Strategy for Winning Each Point.

In case of rain, the backup class date is scheduled for Monday, July 7, 2025.

Location and Scheduling Information

Classes will take place at Pickleball Court #02 and Pickleball Court #03 in Huguenot Park. The program falls under the park’s Sports Activities category and aims to guide players toward more confident and effective gameplay.

Importance of Skill Development

This class gives participants a chance to sharpen their game through focused drills and supervised play. It helps players learn in a supportive setting so they can move on to more advanced competitive or social pickleball activities.

The structured topics and dedicated coaching aim to help players improve step by step and feel more confident during matches. Players who complete the course will likely be ready to participate in regular open play or beginner league games.
