Boca West Children’s Pickleball Camp: Rainy weather couldn’t stop the fun as the Boca West Children’s Foundation launched its free pickleball camp for kids from the Fuller Center. The camp began on June 16, 2025, at the Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida, and will run through June 27.
The two-week camp welcomes 60 children, aged 8 to 13, offering them a chance to learn pickleball and enjoy summer activities at no cost. The foundation covers all expenses, including lunch and equipment.
Camp Provides Gear and Fun Activities
Each child at the camp receives a shirt, hat, water bottle, and drawstring bag. The camp ends each week with a talent show and friendly competitions, where medals and prizes are handed out.
Christina Irving, director of operations at the Boca West Children’s Foundation, shared her excitement about hosting the camp.
“So we have 30 kids throughout the week and we’re really excited to have them here,”. “So we’ve been doing this just over 10 years now, and this is going to be our fifth year doing pickleball. So we’re really happy to have the kids again.”(Christina Irving)
Long-Term Support for Children
The Boca West Children’s Foundation has offered this summer camp for over a decade. This is the fifth year pickleball has been a part of the camp’s programming. The Fuller Center, a local nonprofit that supports children and families, helps select the participants.
The event goes on, rain or shine, with indoor backup plans to ensure the children still enjoy each day.
Building Confidence Through Sport
The pickleball camp gives kids a safe space to learn, make friends, and build confidence. Many of the children may not otherwise have access to summer camps or organized sports. The foundation hopes this program continues to inspire and support children in the community for years to come.
