Cerritos Park East Pickleball Courts: The City of Cerritos will hold a ribbon-cutting event to open four new pickleball courts at Cerritos Park East on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. The event will take place at Court #1 of the park, located at 13234 East 166th Street.

The new courts are dual-use, meaning they are marked for both pickleball and tennis. After the ceremony, the courts will be available for drop-in play. Visitors will be able to play on a first-come, first-served basis.

New Space for a Growing Sport

The new courts are part of a response to pickleball’s rising popularity. Pickleball, a paddle sport combining tennis, badminton, and ping pong, has become a favorite activity in parks across the country.

Now, residents in Cerritos will have more space to enjoy the game. The new courts give local players a chance to practice and play without needing to travel far.

What Players Can Expect

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be open to everyone. Players are invited to bring their paddles and try out the courts right after the event. These new courts will serve both pickleball and tennis players, giving more options to the community.

The setup is designed to let players walk in and start playing. There’s no need to register in advance. The city is encouraging all sports lovers to come enjoy the facility.

A Big Step for Cerritos Parks

The launch of these courts shows the city’s support for healthy and active lifestyles. Adding more play spaces helps serve the needs of local families, teens, and seniors who are drawn to pickleball’s fun and social nature.

This event could mark the beginning of more park upgrades in Cerritos as demand grows. If more people continue to take part, the city may consider building even more courts in the future.
