Over 200 people came together on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow for the 44th annual Frankel-Kinsler Classic Day of Tournaments. The event included golf, bridge, and a lively pickleball competition to raise money for JGS Lifecare.
The goal of the fundraiser was to support better programs and services for elderly residents at JGS Lifecare. Players of all ages and skill levels filled the courts, excited to enjoy their favorite sport while helping a good cause.
Fun and Purpose Combined
The tournament day included more than just sports. Guests enjoyed a barbecue lunch and a banquet dinner, creating a relaxed and festive atmosphere.
The pickleball tournament stood out as courts stayed busy with eager teams ready to compete. Families, friends, and community members joined to take part and show their support.
Pickleball tournament director Allen Nadler said, “There’s always been a good turnout of support for JGS, and every day it gets bigger and bigger. People feel that it’s an important part of the community.”
Honoring Loved Ones and a Legacy
The Frankel-Kinsler Classic is named in memory of Michael Frankel, who once served as chairman of the JGS Lifecare board. He passed away in 2013 at the age of 49. The event also honors the Raymond and Herman Kinsler families for their longtime support of the organization.
This yearly tournament brings the community together while remembering key figures who helped grow JGS Lifecare.
Helping the Elderly Through Sports
Part of the money raised from tournament entry fees goes directly toward JGS Lifecare. These funds help pay for care and activities for the elderly, making their lives more comfortable and joyful.
The event shows how local sports events can be powerful tools for helping others. With growing support each year, JGS Lifecare may continue to expand its programs in the future.
