Allen Park Pickleball Court Expansion: Three new pickleball courts are now open at Allen Park in Farmingdale. These courts were completed this spring and are located where the older section of the park connects with the newer area. The courts are made for pickleball only.
Allen Park already had three tennis courts in the older part of the park, near the softball field. These tennis courts can also be used for pickleball, giving players even more space to enjoy the sport.
Popularity of Pickleball Drives Expansion
Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino said pickleball is becoming more popular in the community.
“It’s a fun, social and healthy activity for residents of all ages,”. “Combining the elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong, this great sport is easy to learn and fun for families. Due to its increased popularity, we’re thrilled to add more courts at parks facilities throughout our Town, including Allen Park!”(Joseph Saladino told Patch)
More Courts Could Be Added
The addition of these courts is part of a larger effort by the Town of Oyster Bay to support growing interest in the sport. Officials hope the new courts will bring more people to the park and encourage active lifestyles.
The decision to place the new courts near the connection between the old and new park areas helps make use of open space and keeps the tennis courts available for both sports.
Community Benefits and Future Outlook
These new courts make it easier for people in Farmingdale to try pickleball. The sport is a fun way to stay active, and it brings friends and families together. As pickleball continues to grow, the town may add even more courts in other parks.
