Argyle Sports Academy Unveils Massive Indoor Pickleball Complex—A Game Changer for Young Athletes

Argyle Sports Academy Pickleball Complex: A new indoor pickleball training facility will soon open in Argyle, Texas. The Argyle Sports Academy was approved by the Town Council on June 16 and will be built on FM 407. The facility will be developed in two phases and will feature 20 indoor courts once complete.

The academy will be built on a 2.35-acre site in the Argyle Landing community, which is currently under development. Access to the site will come from Avalon Boulevard, Hampshire Drive, and Gateway Boulevard.

Facility Plans and Features

The first phase will include a 24,000-square-foot building with 14 indoor courts for pickleball and badminton. In the second phase, 9,600 square feet will be added along with six more courts. The facility will also include a pro shop for gear and equipment.

Karri Reddy, the Principal CEO of Frisco Badminton Academy, is leading the project. The Argyle location will follow the same model as the Frisco academy, making it the company’s fifth site.

“We primarily focus on teaching kids,” Karri Reddy said. “We have 15 full-time coaches serving all locations and we [had] the first badminton Olympic medal [winner] in the United States.”

Youth Focus and Future Talent

Karri Reddy said the goal is to train young athletes in pickleball just like at the Frisco Badminton Academy. He shared that athletes Miles Krajewski and Jayci Simon, who trained at Frisco, earned a silver medal at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.

“Our goal is to build a similar team and training center in Argyle as well,” Karri Reddy said.

Design Rules and Approval Conditions

The Town Council approved the project with rules recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission. These include:

  • Using quality materials like glass or brick on the east wall until phase two is built

  • No outdoor pickleball courts allowed

  • Street trees must have trunks at least four inches thick

  • More trees must be planted or fees paid to Argyle’s tree fund

Construction Timeline

Marisa Brewer from McAdams, the design and engineering firm, said work will begin after roads and infrastructure are finished. This is expected by March 2026. Karri Reddy said the building will take nine months to complete after construction starts.
