Pickleball Fever Hits Steamboat Springs: Rocky Mountain Pickleball Championship Brings Top Talent and Community Excitement

The 2025 Rocky Mountain Pickleball Championship Series will arrive in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for its second stop with the Mountain Town Classic tournament. The event runs from July 25 to July 27 at the Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Complex and is expected to draw players and fans from across the state.

The tournament will be hosted by Kyle Yates, a Pickleball Hall of Fame inductee. This three-day competition is part of a larger circuit with three total events. The series began in Littleton from June 18 to June 22 and will wrap up with the Grand Mesa Opener in September.

Pickleball Showcase in the Mountains

Kyle Yates shared his thoughts in a news release:


“The MTC isn’t just a tournament, it’s a showcase for how much pickleball has grown in Colorado,Whether you’re a player, a fan, or just curious to see what pickleball is about, you won’t want to miss out.”-(Kyle Yates )

Players will earn points at each stop of the championship series. Those points will be totaled at the end of the season. Champions will be named based on skill level.

Growing the Game in Colorado

The Mountain Town Classic highlights the rising popularity of pickleball in mountain towns and aims to bring communities together through sport.

“The Rocky Mountain Pickleball Championship Series is Colorado’s main pickleball event of the year, and we’re aiming to make it bigger and better than ever. Whether this will be your first tournament series or your 1,000th, it’ll soon be your favorite.”-(Kyle Yates )

The event will include matches for all skill levels and provide opportunities for both competitive play and social gathering.
