Another exciting pickleball event is set for Wichita Falls this weekend. The third annual Hanger Banger Pickleball Tournament, led by Amanda Chandler, will raise funds to support the Hanger itself. The event also helps support local nonprofits while bringing players of all skill levels together in a fun indoor space.
Pickleball With a Purpose
Amanda Chandler, owner of the Pickleball Hanger, is well known for running events that give back. While many of her tournaments support charities like Southern Grit Advocacy, the Hanger Banger is extra special.
Chandler said, “Like to give back to the community. And this is a fun way to bring a lot of people together, raise a lot of money, and they actually get to do something with the money that they donate.”
This is the only tournament of the year that directly benefits the Hanger, helping it stay open and able to host other nonprofit fundraisers year-round.
Weekend Packed With Action
The tournament will take place indoors, offering players relief from the summer heat. It starts at 9 a.m. on both Saturday, 21st June, and Sunday, 22nd June. Saturday is for intermediate teams, and Sunday is for advanced-level teams.
The fee is $160 per four-person team.
Along with pickleball, attendees can enjoy food, drinks, and local vendors. Barbecue and beer will be served, adding to the friendly and social atmosphere of the event.
Supporting the Local Community
The Hanger Banger goes beyond just games. It helps strengthen the community by supporting local causes. Chandler’s efforts have created a space where fun and charity go hand in hand.
By playing or even just attending, participants help the Hanger keep running and stay involved in local giving.
