Greenville Indoor Pickleball Center: A new indoor pickleball center is coming to Greenville, South Carolina, by the end of 2025. Baseline GBL will feature 16 temperature-controlled courts near Haywood Mall. With growing interest in year-round play, the project aims to meet local demand and offer memberships and pay-to-play options.
Facility to Open by Winter
Baseline GBL is scheduled to open in December. Chandler Bernau, Director of Operations, said the goal is to let people play during both hot summers and cold winters. The center will offer a 12-layer rubber floor for better court quality.
“There’s not another indoor pickleball situation happening here,” said Chandler Bernau. “We’re just really excited for that to all come together.”
Location and Access
The new courts will be located on Gladys Drive near Haywood Mall. The facility will allow both walk-in players and members. Membership options will be available by September or October. Players are encouraged to follow @BaselineGBL on Instagram and visit baselinegbl.com for updates.
High Demand and Early Interest
Chandler Bernau said excitement is high for the new indoor courts. “Everyone’s very excited about having a reliable place that they can go play indoor with temperature-controlled courts,” she said.
Some local players are already eager for the doors to open. “Can you open any sooner?” is a question Bernau hears often.
Founders and Future Plans
Baseline GBL is led by Danny Joyner, Greg Shepherd, and Dave Bonner. The team has spent time researching top-quality features for the facility.
“The court hearing, it’s a 12-layer rubber floor paint system that’s going to be going down. So it’s really important that we get that right,” Bernau said.
The group wants to ensure a top-tier experience for players across all skill levels. The center will also include early-bird founding memberships for those who sign up quickly.
